MCARE 2023 Scholarship Information
MCARE Board has increased our three scholarships to the amount of $3,000 per scholarship at our meeting on November 3, 2021. We hope this will attract more applicants. This membership benefit was created exclusively for the son; daughter; grandson; or granddaughter of a current or a deceased MCARE member. Please don’t confuse MCARE with MCERA which is the Marin County Employees Retirement Association. They manage our retirement funds and benefits; whereas, MCARE is a voluntary, member-supported association of retired local government and safety employees.
Scholarships will be awarded to the top students meeting our criteria who are pursuing higher education and/or third-level or tertiary education or continuing education (college, university, vocational programs such as nursing, police or fire academies, or a trade school).
The scholarships are named in honor of three deceased members who contributed greatly to your Association: MCARE Scholarship Honoring Agnes Nathanson to a graduating high school senior; MCARE Scholarship Honoring Bob Roumiguiere to an undergraduate and/or a student currently enrolled in higher education and/or third -level or tertiary education or continuing education (college, university, vocational programs such as nursing, police or fire academies, or a trade school); and MCARE Scholarship Honoring Joe Coffrini to a graduate student and/or a student currently enrolled in higher education and/or third -level or tertiary education or continuing education (college, university, vocational programs such as nursing, police or fire academies, or a trade school).
